Portrait with Nick Collura

When I was young, I used to do a lot of dumb stuff, but people know I’m a good kid, because they notice, I’m just young. I’m going to get the message... I don’t like to start problems. But if I have to address a problem, I will really address [it]. If somebody tried to attack me, I’m going to fit back - best believe that. But I’m not going to try to sit down here and get in trouble. What if I get locked up? I want to be a rapper. Now let’s say I’m twenty-five-to-life - I’m not going to be rapping if I’m in jail. So that’s why I try to be a humble beast. And a humble beast meaning, I know when I can be a beast...bring the anger out, but I just try to be humble, and I just try to alleviate the issues.

You’ve got to understand: karma is funny. And people feel like, all right, if I’ve got it right now, I’m going to have it forever. But you never know where you’re going, what you’re going to hit, and [what] life is going to make you be. You can’t push that. You never know when you’re going to be stopped in your tracks.

Honestly, you can’t really be around wolves. Because that’s all they’re going to do: act like wolves. Let’s say you’re a sheep, and you’re with predators. They’re going to try to take you. They’re just going to try to kill you. So what you’ve got to do is, you’ve just got to try to make a way for yourself. And when I get older, I’m not going to be in Bed-Stuy. If I live in New York, I’m going to live somewhere nice and quiet.
